Colin is an independent consultant and photographer. He has wide experience in community development and empowerment having been a practitioner, a manager of a large local authority CD team, teacher and lecturer and government policy advisor. He has worked with mixed neighbourhoods, communities of identity, has has overseen large neighbourhood regeneration projects and been involved in policy development at regional and national levels. He has a particular interest in developing and improving empowerment practice, systems ideas and the effective management and coordination of community development and  empowerment. In 2008 he was commissioned to write a book on the management of community development, the first of its kind in the UK.
